Politicians like Al Gore have been very vocal about this global problem for years. Their efforts have led to Noble Peace prize in some cases. But how does this relate to you? Is it of any real importance in your life? Well, lets talk about your
plans to build a solar panel since no one individual can stop global warming or reverse the effects of the melting polar ice caps. The problem may seem overwhelming, but all of us are still affected. One of the many aspects of the global energy crisis can be seen through the world’s over dependence on crude oil. It takes millions of years for oil to be produced. We all know that there is only a finite amount. But the current world population size and the always expanding demand of nations put urgent demands on the current supply. All of us are using this resource at an alarming rate. There has never been a time in history like today where we have a greater need for oil. At the rate we are consuming oil it’s estimated that we will deplete it within the next 100 years. Then future generations could live in a world without the possibility of fossil fuels for energy. This is why we urgently need to seek out alternative energy sources now rather than later.
Until the world discovers something that can help reduce the current problems, the best thing that we can do to help the situation is to cut back on our energy usage on a consistent basis. Research indicates that if everyone just took the time to turn off the lights in their homes when not in use, it would help reduce the energy being used by over twenty six percent.
